From Gamescom, Cyberpunk 2077 sent a trailer presenting the novelties of the 2.0 update accompanying Phantom Liberty.

Scheduled for September 26, the one and only expansion of the CD Projekt RED title will therefore allow us to survey Night City with revised and corrected gameplay, within the new district of Dogtown as in the basic game… but only on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

New implants to play with

In addition to a brand new original story involving its share of missions endowed with a writing of which CD Projekt RED has the secret, Phantom Liberty intends to do Cyberpunk 2077 a sort of enhanced edition of the base game. It is precisely on the purely gameplay part that the new trailer of the extension presented during Gamescom focused. See instead.

The Polish studio has indeed revised its copy in depth on many points, talent tree and implant system in mind. The veterans of Cyberpunk 2077 will therefore be able to discover the game in a new light and try these new systems in order to make their V as powerful as possible, both in melee and at a distance. New weapons for these two orientations will also be in the game.

Among the elements redesigned within the framework of the extension, we also have the combats in vehicles (inspired to a certain extent by already existing mods), which gain seriously in dynamism and impact. A revision which is part of that of the behavior of the police, quick to motorized pursuits. Like the foot battles, new vehicles armed to the rims will join the party.

Update 2.0 next generation

Many of these new items will come in Update 2.0, which will be released alongside Phantom Liberty, coming September 26th. As a result, these will be accessible not only to those who have acquired the extension, but also on the base game… provided they play it on PC or on new generation consoles.

Having learned from its past mistakes, CD Projekt RED has therefore chosen for the new adventures of V in Night City to abandon the PS4 and Xbox One, in order to be able to truly give substance to its ambitions. Hopefully, the experience will be more stable to justify the sacrifice of the previous generation of consoles.

We will be able to see all of this on the spot in a short month on PC (provided you have a well-hung configuration), as well as on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Ready to take another trip to Night City, chooms?
