Technical problems on vehicles from the world leader in electric cars are not unusual. But this time, it’s his very recent Cybertruck that is in question.
After years of teasing, Tesla’s Cybertruck was finally released late last year. With its particularly futuristic appearance, and rather disproportionate measurements, the latest novelty was quite unlike the other models offered by the brand. But if it is unique, the Cybertruck must also face small glitches in production, as we can currently see.
Tesla has increased delivery delays
Tesla has in recent days increased delivery delays for its Cybertruck, a vehicle which is currently only available in the United States. Information which was not provided by the manufacturer itself, but which was confirmed by several participants of the Cybertruck Owners Club forum, as attested by the media The Verge.
The people in question indicate having received an email or SMS explaining to them that due to concerns “ in preparing your vehicle », Tesla had to reschedule the shipment. And the problems in question would be at the level of the accelerator pedal.
Users report problems with the accelerator pedal
Indeed, several testimonies indicate that this pedal tends to remain… blocked. One of them showed in a video how the accelerator pedal remained stuck, and “ kept the accelerator pressed at 100%, full throttle. » The only way to put an end to this problem was to press the brake pedal, but as soon as you took your foot off the pedal, the acceleration resumed.
A particularly dangerous problem when we know the acceleration power of the Cybertruck, and which could quickly hurt Tesla if it were to be reproduced in a fairly large number of vehicles from the brand. Suffice to say that the current delays have the air of wisdom, especially for a manufacturer which has so many times been at the center of controversies and investigations by the American authorities in charge of the automobile sector.
