Vicat’s turnover increased by 7.9% in Q1 with the Americas zone – 04/29/2024 at 6:42 p.m.

Vicat VCTP.PA reported on Monday an increase in its turnover in the first quarter, driven by the contribution of its activity in the Americas but penalized in France by the slowdown in activity in the construction sector.

The French cement group recorded an increase of 7.9% in its consolidated turnover as of March 31, 2024, to 911 million euros.

The company, founded near Grenoble in 1853, notably emphasizes in a press release that its activity in the United States benefited from a favorable base effect and price increases.

The contribution of the Americas zone to the total amounted to 222 million euros, up 12.4% year-on-year, while turnover in France fell by 8.8% to fall to 270 million euros.

“The weakness of the French residential market should be gradually alleviated this year,” nevertheless indicated the group’s CEO, Guy Sidos, in a press release.

Vicat also confirmed its Ebitda objectives and said it expects its turnover to increase in 2024, while announcing that the group’s industrial investments should amount to around 325 million euros this year.
