A German mountain biker suffered serious injuries in a fall in the Gurgltal on Sunday.
As part of a guided bike tour around 11.40 a.m., two Germans (42 and 68 years old) were on their mountain bikes on the Gurgltalweg from Tarrenz in the direction of Imst. The 68-year-old was behind the 42-year-old and was about to overtake.
When the two men were on the same level, the bicycles touched in the area of the handlebars. As a result, the two men fell and the 68-year-old sustained a serious shoulder injury. He was taken to the hospital in Zams after initial treatment.
