After sharing the trailer for the film he is co-producing, Les Segpa, Cyril Hanouna has suffered a lot of criticism on social networks.
Cyril Hanouna certainly did not expect to read so many negative responses. This Sunday, January 2, the host of Do not touch My TV posted a tweet to announce the release of the trailer for a film he is co-producing: The Segpa. “New for 2022! Glad to present the trailer for the film Les Segpa. I am in co-production with Kallouche cinema and Mandarin cinema. Released in April! A film by Hakim and Ali Bougheraba “.
But his message did not have the hoped-for fallout. This is how in commentary, many people were indignant by worrying about the treatment reserved for Segpa’s students in his film. As a reminder, these classes welcome young people from 6th to 3rd (ie all middle school classes) with significant academic difficulties which cannot be resolved by simple basic academic support. This type of class, which brings together a maximum of 16 students, is used to individualize each person’s path up to access to vocational training leading to a diploma or to continuing studies beyond college.
Rachid Zerrouki, teacher in Segpa: “I am disgusted”
While these teenagers are in great difficulty, the film co-produced by Cyril Hanouna does not show their true face, but makes fun of them in a French comedy which is far from unanimous. In response to his tweet, several people were outraged. “The students of Segpa, who already experience harassment, mockery and exclusion in schools will love …”, quips a surfer. “We don’t care about you, but we don’t give a damn about the kids from Segpa who are subjected to your stupid and stigmatizing mockery”, “I really wish you a phenomenal flop with this crap”, could we also read.
Rachid Zerrouki, a school teacher in Segpa classes who wrote the book The Incasables, also spoke to begin the trailer for this film: “La Segpa is equated with stupidity, lack of intelligence and failure. This type of production contributes greatly to this messed up label“, he wrote, before showing himself even more vehement: “I am disgusted. In recent years I have tried on my very small scale to show the true face of the students of Segpa with a book. A movie in the cinema has repercussions a million times greater than anything I could do “.
