“Daltons” throw a water bomb at an elected official, the town hall of Lyon files a complaint

The Daltons are back. This Friday morning, they threw a water bomb at the mayor of the 8th arrondissement of Lyon, Olivier Berzane.

The elected official was on a neighborhood visit with the mayor (EELV) of Lyon Grégory Doucet when they were targeted by two people, one of whom was dressed in a black and yellow jumpsuit, like the characters of Lucky Luke . Only Olivier Berzane was hit by the projectile.

Grégory Doucet has publicly shown his support for the mayor of the 8th arrondissement, denouncing an “unacceptable physical attack”.

“These attempts to intimidate elected officials have no place in our city or anywhere else,” he added on Twitter. The City has also announced that it will file a complaint.

The “Daltons” did not publish a video, as usual, due to a “false maneuver”. In Instagram story, they nevertheless posted a message as well as a short video showing a member of the collective from behind, holding the water bomb.

They also explain that this “action” was aimed at the mayor of the 8th arrondissement whom they accuse of having “pressured so that Many GT (rapper and leader of the collective, editor’s note) be locked up”.

End of the truce

For several weeks, the “Daltons” remained silent, absent from the networks. Then a few days ago, they had warned of their return, on Instagram. “We remained wise for a long time hoping that justice would release our friend or at least that he would be entitled to normal detention, patience and kindness did not work, too bad, soon back on the streets… the Daltons ! (sic)”, they had written in story, reports the site ActuLyon. They had also warned the city councilor: “the holidays are soon over Mr. Mayor, we are going to get back to work (sic)”.

The collective of rappers, followers of urban rodeos, had been at the heart of the news in the fall, multiplying the provocations against the Lyon authorities. On December 22, two Daltons aged 18 and 23 were sentenced for mortar fire during the program “Face à la Rue”, broadcast on November 24 on CNEWS. Jean-Marc Morandini then received the president of RN Jordan Bardella, in the Guillotière district.

Three others had been sentenced at the end of November for a wild rodeo in the Lyon area.
