Dance with the stars: the new jury severely tackled by Maxime Dereymez

Thursday July 28, 2022, a user shared a video of Maxime Dereymez on TikTok. After announcing his departure on Instagram, the professional dancer tackled the show’s new jury.

At the start of the school year, TF1 will broadcast a new season of Dance with the stars. As announced by Parisian Thursday, July 21, 2022, the singer Bilal Hassani and the star dancer of the Paris Opera Marie-Agnès Gillot will join the show’s jury, alongside François Alu and Chris Marques. A choice that surprised Maxime Dereymez, the program’s flagship dancer. Currently in Argelès-sur-Mer, where he gives a dance course, he has indeed severely tackled the choice of the channel. In a video shared by a user on Thursday July 28, 2022, on TikTok, we can indeed hear him say: “Two star dancers, Marie-Agnès Gillot and François, who was already last year and then Bilal and therefore Chris Marques. For me, there is a dancer who knows ballroom dancing, whereas it is a show, a program that is based on ballroom dancing at its core.

Visibly angry, Maxime Dereymez added: “When you don’t have a vocabulary to judge ballroom dancing, it’s problematic. It is a choice of TF1 which is very bizarre.” The day before, the dancer had announced on Instagram that he would not participate in the next season of Dance with the stars. In the caption of a series of shots where we can see him posing alongside his former partners, he had indicated: “Dance with the stars and I will not blow out our 12th candle. And it’s not without emotion, because this show will have literally changed my life.“Upset, the dancer slipped:”I have invested 300% each season, on each scene to offer the best of myself, to sublimate my partners and to honor this magnificent position as coach and choreographer. This repeated challenge will have nourished me, inspired me and opened the doors to other horizons.

Maxime Dereymez: “I remain very optimistic about my future projects”

After thanking fans and the channel for putting ballroom dancing in the spotlight, the celebrity dancer added, “Finally, I remain very optimistic about my future projects and I long to share them with you. Let’s stay connected! And ‘Hasta la vista, baby’…In the comments section, Laam, who was his last partner, wrote, “It’s my fault, they gave you a ball… Don’t worry, you don’t lose anything. They are the ones who lose. The wheel turns and other projects will arrive. Thanks for everything really.Maxime Dereymez, however, is not the only professional dancer to leave the show. Indeed, this is also the case of Denitsa Ikonomova, Christian Millette and Joël Luzolo!
