In the first double episode of her new season, Daniela Katzenberger celebrates her 36th birthday in pink and makes the perfect pasta salad.

What’s going on with Daniela Katzenberger (36) and her family has been showing the new season of the docu-soap “Daniela Katzenberger – Familienglück auf Mallorca” (Wednesdays, 8:15 p.m., RTLzwei) since Wednesday.

It starts with an argument. The cat and her husband Lucas Cordalis (55) want to beautify their home in Mallorca. Lucas has a dream for this: an open kitchen. But the wall between the living room and the kitchen means a lot to the cat, especially protection against food odors. She also doubts that the family will suddenly eat together because of her husband’s building plans. In the democratic vote, however, she was overruled by her husband and seven-year-old daughter Sophia. So it’s clear: the wall is coming out and the smell of fish sticks will soon be everywhere.

Party in pink and pasta salad

But before that, the cat’s 36th birthday is planned, which is themed “Pink Party”. For this, mom Iris Klein (56) first touches pasta salad for 20 people, because “pasta salad is the link in our family.” The secret of the Katzenberger party salad: “The most important thing is that nothing fresh comes in – only canned food!”

The party, at which of course everyone has to appear in pink, is a complete success: Thanks to the pink drinks, the first few are drunk after a very short time. After another electric violinist comes, Iris, Daniela and Lucas dance on the table. Guitar music, flamenco dancers and karaoke follow. A pink party straight out of a picture book: “It was one of the hottest birthdays I’ve ever had!”

In the second episode “Flashing Thunderstorms, Singing Cabin and Piercing Studio” the cat and her husband visit an event in Munich. After a long discussion, the cat decides to present its “milk factory” (quote Iris Klein) in a low-cut black dress – even if everyone advises against it. “I just look great,” says Katzenberger. She now also knows how to behave as a well-known personality on the red carpet: “You become a poser, a small talker, a slime – a celebrity.”

The secret of the perfect marriage

With a hangover, the couple goes to aerial yoga the next day, where the sport is practiced hanging in towels. Cat: “I’m not a fan of letting yourself go in marriage. You can also let yourself down!” As she hovers over him, Lucas delights in his wife’s body. On the occasion, she reveals the secret of her marriage: “Lucas finds me the hottest when I find myself the hottest. It’s that simple, that’s our marriage secret.”

It gets more frustrating in the recording studio. There, the cat tries to sing a new song, which she doesn’t succeed at first: “If I burp in there, it’s nicer!” Cordalis knows what that means: “I know that if it doesn’t work right away, it can be very, very stressful – because then you want to give up everything quickly.” The campaign will be postponed until further notice.

The last station of the first double episode is a piercing studio. A diversionary maneuver for daughter Sophia, who actually wanted a dog, but is also satisfied with her first earrings. Bravely, the little one can shoot the holes in the ear. And then forces her mother to have her overgrown navel piercing pierced again. With pure fear in its eyes, the cat puts up with it and then thinks: “That hurt like hell! My daughter was braver than me.”
