Indeed, Elden Ring, like its elders, will also benefit from the invasion-based multiplayer mode in your game, or in the game of others, in Co-op mode. Given that Elden Ring going to use the same online multiplayer system, concerns are heightened even further. Indeed, a recent Remote Code Execution (RCE) has been detected in online PC mode in the series of souls. That is to say that the people who will invade your world will be able to modify your machine, recover passwords or even put a virus on your computer.
For now, online servers are disabled (only on PC) as announced by Official Twitter Dark Souls. But that’s why players are worried. It looks like the PC version ofElden Ring uses the same internet code, which means that if this bug is not properly patched, it could occur again on FromSoftware’s next game.
As a reminder, Elden Ring has been delayed to February 25, 2022 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
