Darkest Dungeon 2: the first DLC The Binding Blade is available

“Our community’s continued support for the Crusader inspired us to bring back this fan favorite. Its updated design looks great, its skills are impactful, and its specializations offer plenty of strategic variety. But we wanted to go further and honor his status with our players, which is why we created a unique gaming experience to celebrate his arrival on the roster.” There’s no denying that dear Chris Bourassa, co-founder and creative director of Red Hook Studios, knows how to talk to fans of Darkest Dungeon II.

The Crusader will be unlockable in the game after completing a specific quest, while the Duelist, a newcomer armed with a rapier, will be accessible from the start. This will have the specific features of being able to quickly switch from a defensive position to an attack position, and to be able to apply numerous buffs to his teammates. Crusader and Duelist arrive with full stories, playable flashbacks, and a host of unique trinkets and items. With these two new recruits, the allies now have 14 heroes in total. The enemy ranks will also receive reinforcements with the arrival of the Grand General, a roaming mini-boss with random appearances.

Fans of turn-based strategic roguelite playing on consoles will have to be patient: the immense road trip to a medieval-fantasy hell with Lovecraftian accents that is Darkest Dungeon 2 is still being ported to consoles, without any date having been announced. The Binding Blade DLC is available for €9.75. On the occasion of the launch of this extension, Darkest Dungeon II is available on Steam and Epic Games Store with a small discount of 25%.
