King Charles III’s “The Prince’s Foundation” is set to get a new ambassador, David Beckham.
An invitation from King Charles III. Beckham has already accepted a conversation about an ambassadorial role, reports the British tabloid “The Sun”. “It’s an open secret that David wants to be knighted one day and many people have wondered why he isn’t a sir yet after all he’s done,” an anonymous insider said.
Getting on the king’s good side could certainly help, the source continues. Around 20 years ago, Beckham was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) for his footballing achievements. Beckham also already has experience as an ambassador for royal projects. In 2018 he was an ambassador for Prince Harry’s (39) Invictus Games, a sporting event for disabled soldiers.
Exploratory talks in Scotland?
“The king wants to explore whether he and David can work together, explore possible projects and find out whether they have common ground,” it continues. The meeting could therefore take place in Scotland – in Dumfries House, a mansion where the foundation has its headquarters.
The Prince’s Foundation, which exists in its current form and whose predecessor was founded by Charles in 1986, is committed, among other things, to a more sustainable future. The foundation also offers educational programs for all age groups. This includes, for example, processing textiles or managing a garden.
