A question to which he does not have the answer… In 1997, David Brécourt landed the role of Baptiste Mondino in Sous le soleil, on TF1. Although the actor has many fans, his television career never took off. Monday February 12, 2024, it was on the set of the show Chez Jordan, on C8, that he declared: “This expression: ‘He’s too smooth’ I never really understood it (…) There are roles that I didn’t get because it’s true that there is a denial of ‘ handsome kid’. Because you’re handsome you can’t be a good actor. There’s a bit of that in France.”. Bitter, he blurted out: “It’s good to have a slightly crooked face, why not a little scar… But I find it stupid!“
Having many admirers, David Brécourt indicated: “I’m luckyit’s true that I receive a lot of messages from women and men, who find me handsome and a good actor and that’s a pleasure”. Although he mainly plays in the theater, he sometimes has small roles on television. “I don’t understand. I did a Cassandre (series broadcast on France 3), last year, the producers called me, the channels found me great… I would like to investigate something else, but it doesn’t work“, he lamented. While the label Under the Sun still sticks to him, the actor slipped: “But let them take advantage of it! There are many actors from ‘Plus belle la vie’ or ‘Un si grand soleil’, who do ‘Murders at…’ and who don’t stop filming. A Every time I do something the ratings are pretty good, even very good, so I say to myself why aren’t they taking advantage of me?
David Brécourt: “I want to choose”
In the past, however, he was invited to take part in tests for Plus belle la vie. “I won’t do it because I don’t want to go back into a series. I want to do different things. I want to choose“, he replied. Currently showing the play called In Those Times, Love at the Théâtre de La Madeleine in Paris, David Brécourt then announced: “I’ve wanted to play on my own for a long time. I enjoy playing on my own and what’s more, I feel like I’m useful for something. That’s wonderful”.
