Whoever will take over the role of the famous Time Lord in the next episodes of Doctor Who will soon slip into the skin of Alexander Litvinenko, a former Russian spy and KGB officer who was fatally poisoned in London after ingesting a rare radioactive substance in a Mayfair hotel in 2006.
Entitled Litvinenko, this new police series, which will be offered in December on the English streaming platform ITVX, will follow the investigation of the London police into one of the most complex cases they have had to deal with.
Written by George Kay, creator and screenwriter of Lupin, this 4-part mini-series will focus on the work of Scotland Yard investigators to find the perpetrator of this crime. At the same time, viewers will also be able to follow the story of Marina (Margarita Levieva), the wife of Alexander Litvinenko, who fought for 10 years to have the names of those responsible for the poisoning of her husband revealed publicly and that the involvement of the Russian state in his assassination be recognized.
