A few days after the formalization of the iPad Pro M2, the Blackmagic Design company revealed the arrival of DaVinci Resolve for the touch pads of the Apple brand.
DaVinci Resolve comes to iPad
Video editing software already known to users of Windows, Mac and Linux, DaVinci Resolve will finally make its arrival on the iPad side. The announcement comes to us directly from Blackmagic Design, the company to whom we owe the famous video editing software.
Optimized for MultiTouch technology and the Apple Pencil, DaVinci Resolve for iPad offers support for cutout and color pages. It provides access to DaVinci’s award-winning image technology, color finishing tools and the latest HDR workflows. Blackmagic Cloud support also allows creators to collaborate with multiple users around the world.
DaVinci Resolve for iPad will be available in Q4 2022 on the Apple App Store as a free download, with an upgrade to DaVinci Resolve Studio for iPad also available as an in-app purchase.
Increased performance thanks to the M2 chip
As you will have understood, the wait will not be very long before you can get your hands on the iPad version of DaVinci Resolve. This should indeed land by the end of the year and will fully benefit from the performance of the M2 chip of the iPad Pro. It will also offer 4x faster rendering performance in Ultra HD ProRes. For now, however, it remains to be clarified which iPad models will be able to accommodate DaVinci Resolve.
Anyway, this is great news for iPad owners who will soon be able to have free complete video editing software from their tablet. The more editing enthusiasts can choose to checkout to benefit from some additional features for 95 dollars.
