At the age of 82, the US actress Dawn Wells died of complications from Covid-19 disease.

The actress Dawn Wells (1938-2020) is dead. This is what the industry magazine "Variety" reports, citing Wells' agents. The native American was 82 years old. She died in Los Angeles as a result of a Covid 19 disease.

After Wells was named Miss Nevada in 1959, a long career in film, television and theater followed. Although she had roles in series such as "Alf", "Baywatch" and "Maverick", she was best known for her performance of Mary Ann Summers in "Gilligan's Island" – a sitcom from the 1960s in which seven Americans stranded on an island in the Pacific.

Wells said in an interview with People magazine that she loved working on the series. "I've never regretted my time on the show," said the actress. "It was wonderful. I loved going to work and I loved being that character." The cast of the sitcom was like family back then. Many of her co-stars have passed away before her, including Bob Denver (1935-2005) and Alan Hale Jr. (1921-1990).
