Day 2 at Lido Sounds – Good vibes, lots of amore and even more rock’n’roll

In a live league of its own
Pyrotechnics aren’t a crime with the pants, the quintet fired from all guns several times during the set. Controlled fire at the FOH, torches on the stage and then the acoustic fire. “Bonnie & Clyde”, “Wannsee”, “Alles aus Liebe”, “Wünsch dir was” and the thoroughly semi-ironic Alphaville cover “Forever Young” caused a storm of enthusiasm. Campino himself didn’t seem quite as fit as in recent years, but made up for the lack of fire with plenty of humor and anecdotes. He railed against war and Putin and remembered the Linz actress Birgit Minichmayr, an important companion from the past, in “Days Like These”. Naive youthful sins like “Ice-cooled Bommerlunder” mixed with punk rock classics like “Pushed Again” or “Here comes Alex”. With so much love for Linz, as the Toten Hosen showed, you can go on for two minutes. They’re still in a league of their own live.
