The FR vs NA arc is arguably the most thrilling in Dragon Ball Fighter Z history. While at the start of the game, only the American community seemed capable of competing with the Japanese community, the French, carried by Wawa the young national prodigy, gradually succeeded in establishing themselves as the third nation in the game. But that was not enough for the French players, who are always aiming higher. Spades were exchanged with the American players, before a showmatch in France came to close the debate.
Two national teams formed for the occasion clashed, with a final victory for France. Certainly an undeniable victory, but we still felt that the match could have gone the other way. It was therefore necessary to go and challenge the Americans on their lands, in order to assert the hegemony of France for the western region of DBFZ.Only things did not go as planned during the Combo Breaker 2022, where despite 4 tricolors in the top 8, Uncle Sam remained sovereign in his country. But the French were not going to stop there…
Captain Wawa and Cursed Kasuga
For this CEO, they were only two players who left to challenge America. Wawa, the little prince of DBFZ, and Kasuga, one of the best French players, but subscribed to the top 5. Unfortunately for the second, the curse was not broken during this CEO, and he still finished in this place. Let’s not be mistaken, fifth out of two hundred players, including several top American players, it’s a very good performance. Nevertheless Kasuga has the potential to go higher, he just needs a little click to finally find himself on the podiums of the biggest tournaments, or even perhaps on the top step. In any case, a huge congratulations to him for this fantastic performance, which may finally allow him to find a sponsor.
As for Wawa, the young prodigy of the BMS team, he has only been young in age for a long time. From his 17 years, we started talking about him on the DBFZ stageof this genius of KoF who was surely going to do dirty on the game. And he didn’t make anyone lie, making performances worthy of the greatest fighting game players in history. Being able to sit at the table of Go1, SonicFox, Kazunoko and Fenritti (players who have all won a world championship title on a major game, yes BlazBlue does count!) on FighterZ is not given to everyone, but Wawa knew how to hold his rank. And he proved it once again during this CEO, getting rid of each of his opponents with the way.
El Padre Shanks, to make the party perfect
Height of humiliation for American players, it was not one of them who challenged Wawa in the final of the tournament. Because if we have talked a lot about France, we must not forget the Spanish community, which remains in ambush. And Shanks, nicknamed El Padre by his peers, proved it again. Sent to Loser Bracket by HookGangGod, he made the comeback by eliminating Kite and Kasuga, before taking his revenge on the one who had tripped him, to finally beat Nitro and earn the right to challenge Wawa in the Grand Finals.
The duel between the two players is a bit like our European classico, as both have taken the game to their respective communities. And in truth, if we would necessarily be disappointed to see a Frenchman lose against him, we couldn’t really be sad, the man is so nice. But not tonight. Despite excellent matches from the Spaniard, Wawa proved to be stronger, not even letting him reset the bracket. The BMS player therefore succeeds in the perfect tournament, without having lost a single match, even if he has dropped a few sets. After the disappointment of the Combo Breaker, the little prince of DBFZ put France back on the throne. It’s one everywhere, and that will be settled in August during EVO. Nevertheless, Americans and Europeans alike must not get carried away, because it is probable that Japanese players will come with the intention of reminding everyone who the bosses are on the game. So much the better, the fight will only be more beautiful.

Another tricolor medal hope
The competition is over on DBFZ, but not the CEO. Several tournaments have yet to end, including the one on Tekken 7.
