After long years of desperately waiting for the Dead Island 2 that we have been promised for so long, hope is reborn. According to Tom Henderson, an insider with access to Dambuster Studio’s project progress, the wait is almost over. We will soon be able to let off steam again on hordes of zombies!
Since its announcement and the presentation of its trailer at E3 2014, no more news of the game had been given. A sudden disappearance, which lasted more than 8 years before, yesterday, Henderson posts a video on YouTube which has revived among fans of the license a glimmer of hope that has almost disappeared.
Updates to the plot
We already knew that the plot will take place in sunny California. However, in his video, Henderson says a bit more about how the game unfolds. If you don’t want to potentially spoil yourself, it is advisable to move on to the next chapter of the article.
The game will start on board a plane, which because of our favorite zombies will crash in Hollywood. The player can then explore the villas of stars to find resources and weapons. There would also be a chapter of the game taking place entirely in sewers filled with zombies even more disgusting than those on the surface, much like that of the first opus in Banoi. Tom Henderson says no more, we have to keep a little mystery…
A release date?
No release date yet for Dead Island 2, that would be far too easy. However, Henderson gave some guidance on this: “According to everyone I’ve spoken to… the state of the game is more than decent and it could be announced pretty soon with some sort of gameplay trailer. The release date should be around Q4 2022 or even next year if there are any problems with the development cycle”.
So don’t worry, if you want to knock out some zombies quickly, the wait will soon be over (if all goes well).
