Dead Space: John Carpenter would still like to adapt it into a film

In addition to being a renowned filmmaker, director of cult films like Halloween, The Thing, New York 1997 or Christina, John Carpenter is also a big fan of video gamesevoking his passion regularly on social networks or during interviews with journalists.

And precisely, he was recently interviewed by A.V. Club on the occasion of the release of Halloween Endshorror film for which he was producer and composer. He reveals that he had a good time on Borderlands and Horizon Forbidden Westas well as another open-world title, a post-apocalyptic multiplayer game:

I got addicted to this game, Fallout 76. I was addicted to it for quite a while. You know, I know there were bugs and a lot of them got squashed, but I thought that was great. It’s really fun to play.

John Carpenter had previously claimed to have enjoyed Halo Infinitebut much less Red Dead Redemption 2which he dropped after a few hours because of his gameplay too heavy. Amazing thing, he never composed music for a video game, because nobody ever asked him to do it, but he’s already gone. On the production side, as he already said in 2013, he would always love to adapt dead space At the movie theater. It must be said that the claustrophobic, frightening and terrifying atmosphere of the games of Visceral Games fits perfectly with the style of Master of Horror.

As a reminder, the first part of the franchise will be entitled to a remakeexpected next January and of which gameplay was recently unveiled. Remake that you can pre-order against €79.99 on Amazon.
