Deadpool 3: Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman celebrate the end of filming on the Marvel film

Against all odds, the arrival of Deadpool 3 in cinemas is becoming clearer! Filming of the film, which was interrupted in 2023 because of the Hollywood strike, ended this week. Actors Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman did not fail to mark the occasion.

Deadpool + Wolverine

It was via the social network X (formerly Twitter), and with his trademark humor, that Ryan Reynolds published a photo of his character’s crotch, specifying that: “This costume hides blood. And sweat… But today, with the end of filming Dead Pool, he mostly hides tears.

I am extremely grateful to the cast and crew of this film who held their ground in the face of wind, rain, strikes and Hugh Jackman… All under the faithful direction of Shawn Levy. I was able to make a film with close friends and that doesn’t happen often.”

The actor regularly enjoys teasing Hugh Jackman (X-Men, Logan), his on-screen partner for this Deadpool 3since it was announced that Wolverine would lend a hand to his character to face a common enemy in this new opus directed by Shawn Levy (Free Guy, Stranger Things).

Jackman celebrated the end of filming on the film… by shaving off his iconic Wolverine beard. He also documented the process on X by adding:

“What an adventure! I loved every minute of filming this movie. Well not the training or the diet, but the other 93.2%. Thanks to the cast and crew, you are the best. To my friends Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy, I literally could never have done this without you. Literally! …Now it’s time to shave.”

The only MCU film in 2024

Deadpool 3 is expected in French cinemas on July 24, 2024 and this is the hero’s first official adventure within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

It is also the only MCU film to be released in theaters this year, and it should once again transport us to the multiverse in order to justify the return in a film of the franchise of the character of Wolverine, which came to an end tragic in the film Logan.

Apart from Reynolds and Jackman, Deadpool 3 will also bring together Morena Baccarin (Greenland) again in the guise of Vanessa, Lewis Tan (Mortal Kombat) as Shatterstar, and Jennifer Garner (Daredevil) back at Marvel as Elektra.

Emma Corrin (A Murder at the End of the World) plays an antagonist in this film, while Matthew Macfadyen (Succession) plays a currently unknown character.

While waiting for the film’s release in July 2024, a first trailer for Deadpool 3 should be unveiled on February 11 during the Super Bowl.
