Deal fixed – Friesacher sells truck filling stations to OMV

The Salzburg entrepreneur Markus Friesacher is selling his nine AP gas stations, mostly truck gas stations along the transit route in Salzburg and Tyrol, to OMV. The approval of the antitrust authorities is still pending.

The former racing driver is withdrawing completely from the gas station business. In 2016, the busy entrepreneur had already sold his 66 Hofer gas stations to the oil company. The sales price for the truck gas stations is not disclosed. According to Friesacher’s own information, it recently turned over around 300 million euros per year in the gas station business. The complete sale was now “strategically the best time,” the media said. For OMV, because in the future it will be possible to offer not only diesel on the important transit route, but also alternatives such as HVO fuels made from used oil and vegetable fat as well as electric stations. For Friesacher, “because I really enjoy taking over and renovating businesses.” The entrepreneur also wants to continue investing in real estate. Friesacher’s corporate empire, the MF Group in Anif, is broadly based. In 2018, Friesacher bought Gmundner Keramik.
