The Galaxy S21 series models are currently some of the best Samsung smartphones on the market. They convince with a high processing quality and have even received the update to OneUi 4.0, which in turn is based on the brand new Android 12. Buying a Galaxy S21, a Galaxy S21 + or a Galaxy S21 Ultra is therefore even more worthwhile.
But are the prices reasonable in early January or should you wait to buy? We’ll find out together in this article. Buying the Galaxy S21: is it currently advisable to buy it?
The Samsung Galaxy S21 was presented in January 2021 at a price of 829 euros. Almost exactly a year later, the price on the Internet has currently fallen by around 180 euros. As you can see from our price tool, you currently have to pay at least 649 euros for the basic model of the S21 series:
In view of the last few weeks of the old year, the price is unfortunately less good again. Most recently, the Galaxy S21 came quite close to the still applicable absolute low of 595 euros. Today, more than 50 euros more are due – check out the values below, which show the process since launch:

Buy the Galaxy S21 +: How good are the deals for the Plus model?
For the Galaxy S21 +, Samsung asked for an introductory price of 1,049 euros. It was released at the same time as the S21, so almost 12 months have passed since the release. At the beginning of January 2022 you will pay 779 euros with the cheapest online provider. An okay price for the smartphone, but the price has gone up again in the last three weeks.
In the past, the S21 + was already available for around 720 euros. In the meantime we are about 60 euros above that with the currently required low prices.
In my opinion, you can still buy the Galaxy S21 + at this price if you absolutely need a good new Samsung phone right now. But I’m pretty sure that the price will move down again – at the latest when the direct successor hits in a few weeks.

Buying the Galaxy S21 Ultra: Bad time to buy
One of the most expensive Android flagships last year: the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. The starting price was a high 1,249 euros, of which 1,015 euros were left at the best retailer at the beginning of January. The costs have only fallen by just under 235 euros. That’s not a good price and there have been much better deals in the past.
On Black Friday, Samsung offered the cell phone itself at the best price so far. The version with 256 gigabytes of internal memory cost just 799 euros. A one-time price that has not actually come back so far and is miles away from the current price tag that you will find on the Ultra.
So I advise you to wait with the purchase. In February, the new models will be in the house – until then, the price screw will certainly be turned!
