PARIS (Reuters) – A second French national has died in Israel “a victim of terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas against Israel”, the French Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday.

“We are continuing the steps taken to clarify the situation of our unlocated nationals,” added the Quai d’Orsay.

France announced on Sunday the death of a national in Israel in the context of attacks by the Palestinian group Hamas launched on Saturday on Israeli territory, and reported “several nationals” who were not located.

The Hamas attack on Israel has left more than 800 dead since Saturday, according to the latest toll reported Monday by the Israeli press, while the Gaza Ministry of Health reported at least 560 Palestinian deaths.
