Death of Christophe: Pascal Obispo pays him a vibrant tribute one year after this “shitty day”: Femme Actuelle Le MAG


On April 16, 2020, the music world was in mourning: the singer Christophe died at the age of 74. Daniel Bevilacqua, real name, died after weeks of fighting against pulmonary emphysema. Audrey’s companion left an orphan France, as well as her daughter Lucie and her son Romain. Among his fellow singers, one in particular had struggled to get used to the sad news: Pascal Obispo. The songwriter, former coach of The Voice, had confided his sentence to our colleagues from TV 7 Days in May 2020, just a few weeks after the death of the interpreter of Blue words : “I lost a very dear friend, Christophe. It upset me and still affects me a lot”. In this interview, Pascal Obispo even shared several memories about his friend and mentioned failed acts: “A few weeks before his disappearance, we had exchanged messages, which I keep preciously. He said that, until then, he was holding on. With his emphysema, he unfortunately ticked all the negative boxes. We still had so much to share … I had to go on stage with him, he asked me to be his bassist for a concert “.

On the occasion of sad first anniversary of this disappearance, Pascal Obispo has decided to pay tribute to Christophe. Friday April 16, 2021, on his Instagram account, Julie’s husband posted a beautiful black and white photo, on which we see them very accomplices. In legend, Pascal Obispo wrote: “A year ago today, my friend Christophe left us”. Very affected, the singer is still struggling to cope with the disappearance of his friend : “Such a sad day, a shitty day, this kind of day that we wish it never happened.” Pascal Obispo continued: “We still had so much to say to each other and great projects to accomplish”. In order to pay tribute to him, he offered his fans, via his music application, several covers of Christophe’s most emblematic titles. A great way to keep your talent alive …
