His business partner, producer Nathan Ross, also responded to the sad news in a statement: “He was a true artist and a generous and loving guy (…) This maestro will be sorely missed, but his magnificent style and his hard-hitting work will endure.”. What did Jean-Marc Vallée die of?

Found dead by one of his friends in his chalet, the director Jean-Marc Vallee -who really did not have what can be called a rock star lifestyle, since he did not drink, paid close attention to what he ate, exercised and meditated according to the site Deadline– unfortunately succumbed to a heart attack during the Christmas holidays. The 58-year-old filmmaker’s agent, originally from Montreal, confirmed to the Los Angeles Times Monday evening that it was indeed a cardio-respiratory arrest which was at the origin of the death of his client. Jean-Marc Vallée was the father of two children, two sons named Alex (actor in the film Starbuck and the series Providence) and Emile (who appeared in two feature films by his father: CRAZY and Café de Flore), resulting from her union with the writer Chantal Cadieux who shared her life for more than 15 years. The director also had three brothers and sisters: Marie-Josée Vallée, Stephane Tousignant and Gerald Vallée.
