One after the tragic death of Gaspard Ulliel following a skiing accident, the public prosecutor of Albertville gave an update on the case. She thus announced to RTL that the file had been officially “classified without follow-up” several months ago.
It is a death from which French cinema has still not recovered. On January 18, 2022, Gaspard ulliel has been victim of a fatal collision with a Lithuanian skier on a track in the resort of La Rosière, in Savoie. Seriously injured, the 37-year-old actor had been transported to the Grenoble University Hospital. He finally died the next morning, leaving behind his 6-year-old son named Orso, from his relationship with Gaëlle Pietri.
A judicial inquiry was then opened, and on January 20, 2022, Anne Gache, the public prosecutor of Albertville, detailed the circumstances of the tragic accident. “The two skiers were riding side by side and collided. No excessive speed, inappropriate behavior or fault on the part of one of the two skiers was noted. This accident is very sad but the circumstances are quite simple“, she had indicated.
Lithuanian skier cleared of all responsibilities
In order to make her conclusions, the prosecutor of Albertville relied on the testimonies collected by the investigators of the CRS Alpes, as well as on the findings made at the scene of the tragedy. However, the file had not yet been closed because the justice wanted to take the time to analyze all the elements appearing in the context of the investigation.
But one year to the day after the accident, the public prosecutor Anne Gache announced to RTL that the file has officially been dismissed several months ago. This means that the Lithuanian skier who collided with Gaspard Ulliel is cleared of all responsibilities and therefore cannot be the subject of any legal proceedings.
