Death of Guy Marchand, his son Jules “accompanied him to the end”: “He can be proud of himself”


Last December 15, Guy Marchand took his last breath at the age of 86. His son Jules then paid him a magnificent tribute: “Dad, I love you! This life with you has given me so much. You are my father, my brother, my friend, my confidant. The whole person I am today was shaped by your wordshe wrote on Instagram, before revealing that his father would be buried on December 27 at the Mollégès church.

Surrounded by his sister Ludivine, his mother – the ex-wife of Guy Marchand –, Béatrice Chatelier, his nephew Balthazar and many relatives, Jules said goodbye to his father this Wednesday, December 27 duringa religious ceremony where a photo of the artist playing the clarinet was placed on his coffin. At the end of it, relatives and fans met at the Course bar. Pablo, a relative of the family who helped organize the ceremony, shared a few words with the daily The Parisian : “Guy Marchand can be proud of his son who accompanied him until the end.”

He was always someone simple and accessible and we exchanged a few words, confided Danièle and Yves, retirees living in the town, on a daily basis. Julien, restaurant owner At Ju’ssaid that the crooner regularly came to his establishment: “He often came with his son Jules. I served him frog legs and snails. […] We laughed a lot with him, he was a very pleasant person to have around. From his years spent in the South, Guy Marchand seems to have left an impression on the locals with his kindness and accessibility. So many of them wanted to return the favor this December 27 and support his family in this difficult time.
