The end of an era. Friday December 15, 2023, the interpreter of Nestor Burma between 1991 and 2003, Guy Marchand, died at the age of 86. It was his two children, Ludivine and Jules, who announced his disappearance toAFP. He “passed away peacefully this Friday […] at Cavaillon hospital (Vaucluse)”, they soberly indicated in a press release. Two days later, the actor’s son, Jules Marchandwho inherited his father’s passion for cinema, came out of the silence on his Instagram account. In a moving messagehe first recalled how important his father had been in his life. “Dad, I love you! This life with you has given me so much. You are my father, my brother, my friend, my confidant. The whole person I am today was shaped by your words. You taught me to no longer be afraid, to love, to contemplate the simplest moments of life by telling me: ‘There, my son, we are immortal!'”he initially wrote in the caption of two photos where the complicity with his father is beyond doubt.
Jules Marchand: “I didn’t want you to leave”
Afterwards, Jules Marchand remembered all the works he was able to view alongside the famous actor. “Watching our evening film with the eagerness of the big children that we are: laughing in front of The cellar is rebelling where the Life annuity ; be fascinated by our favorite westerns Wild Horde, Open Range, Only the untamed, the man of the high plains ; shiver in front Jaws, Green Sun Or Deliverance ; don’t watch the end of Gladiator because we didn’t want to see the hero leave… I didn’t want you to leave but we watched the end together this time”, continued the man who became the father of little Charlie in September 2023. Guy Marchand will have been lucky enough to be able to experience the happiness of being grandfather a second time. He had already been a grandpa for eight years. His daughter had given birth to Balthazar. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
