Born in 1934, Michel Ruhl began his career as an actor on the Parisian stage in the early 1950s, under the direction of Gérard Philipe.

Mainly present in the theatre, he also offers himself some incursions on the big screen, in rather secondary roles, and especially on television, where he sometimes invites himself, for the time of an episode, in successful series such as Les Investigations by Commissioner Maigret. In 2007, under the direction of Lucas Belvaux, we can see him don the costume of Jacques Chirac in the TV movie Les Prédateurs.

Also very present in the world of dubbing, Michel Ruhl lends his unique voice to many international characters and actors, such as James Cromwell (for example in LA Confidential, I, Robot or The Queen), Terence Stamp (in Elektra or Valkyrie ) and more recently Robert Duvall (in The Judge or The Widows).

He is also the voice actor Scott Wilson, alias Hershel in The Walking Dead, and Julian Glover – the famous Maester Pycelle – in seasons 3 to 6 of Game of Thrones.

On the animation side, Michel Ruhl hides behind Fa-Zhou, the venerable father of Mulan in the Disney studio classics, as well as behind Nestor, Captain Haddock’s butler in The Adventures of Tintin. In the later years of his long vocal career, he also served as the narrator of the hit anime Dragon Ball Super.
