This Sunday, May 1, the singer Régine died. The latter had had two great loves in her life. Who are her two former husbands?
This Sunday, May 1, AFP just announced some very sad news : the singer Régine died at 11 a.m.. At the age of 92, she marked the lives of several generations of French people who swayed their hips to her songs or in her nightclubs. Pierre Palmade, friend of the singer, wrote the press release of her death, at the request of the family: “The queen of the night is leaving: closure due to a long and great career. Leaving with her disco ball and her warm and reassuring banter”, the singer “had been dancing for more than 30 years in her nightclubs the stars of the whole world”.
Régine then joins her son, who died of cancer at the age of 58. On November 7, 1947, at the age of 17, the singer married Paul Rotcage, at the time an apprentice leather worker. She will then give birth to her only child, Lionel Rotcage. Then, Régine finds love again in the arms of Roger Choukroune in 1969, in Boncourt in Eure-et-Loir. The Queen of the Night therefore had two husbands whom she loved deeply, like her son, Lionel Rotcage, who died in 2006.

Régine had also mentioned the loss of her child, in an interview for france sundayin 2018: “I lost my only son twelve years ago and I will never get over it. Lionel was a journalist and businessman, he died at the age of 58 from lung cancer. He suffered a lot of having to share me. We didn’t get along all the time, but we loved each other a lot.” But before leaving, his son had given him a granddaughter, Daphne. The latter then in turn gave birth to a little boy: “Leo is my new love. He’s 1.5 years old and can’t stop dancing. He’s an explosive mix of Irish, Scottish and Polish blood. He’s also the grandson of John Boorman, director of Excalibur . So I believe this little one will be a genius.”
