He was the big star of the recent State of Play. Death Stranding 2, expected in 2025 on PlayStation 5, revealed a 10-minute trailer. It was breathtaking but also not easy to capture.
If there is one game to remember from the State of Play on January 31, 2024, it is Death Stranding 2… Alongside Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin or even Silent Hill 2, Hideo Kojima’s new baby (Metal Gear Solid) made a super strong impression. Already, thanks to his absolutely breathtaking technique. As for the first part, the Japanese creator used the Decima Engine – in-house engine from Guerrilla Games which recently brought Horizon 2: Forbidden West to life (basically the most beautiful game on the PS5). An ultra-robust engine, which works wonders for Aloy’s latest adventures; and which seems to take a further step. Everything, from the natural settings to the faces obtained with performance capture, is sumptuous. The features of Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux and even Elle Fanning are larger than life. But obviously, that’s not all to remember from this ten-minute trailer.
