Death Stranding: A movie is now confirmed, first details

Another day, another new adaptation. However, we will not feign too much astonishment when we learn here that the next game that has attracted the attention of Hollywood is none other than death stranding, an experience itself deeply influenced by cinema. Kojima recently mentioned the desire to see Kojima Productions venture into other mediums than video games, which made the possibility of a cinematic adaptation of death stranding very probable. Deadline confirms the thing today by giving more details.

At least the casting is already known

A movie death stranding will therefore see the light of day and will obviously be produced by Kojima Productions, but not only. It will be funded by Hammerstone Studios, who have just released the film Barbarian.

Allan Ungar and Kojima Productions are listed as executive producers, but no director is mentioned yet (Guillermo del Toro, right?). Same thing on the casting side where nothing is confirmed, but it is hard to see Norman Reedus not resuming his role, just like Léa Seydoux and the others.

Although, it is still necessary that this adaptation focuses on the same characters, which is not acquired. Deadline specifies that this film could introduce new elements to this universe, as well as other characters.

Remember that before this film, death stranding 2 should be released on PlayStation 5 within the next few years.
