Deathverse: Let It Die: Servers will temporarily shut down on July 19 so the game can be ‘redeveloped’

Available from late September/early October 2022 on PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Deathverse: Let It Die has a particularly chaotic launch due to the many technical problems listed by the public and the developers. Unfortunately, the issues here seem so dire for the free-to-play multiplayer action-survival game service that Supertrick Games and GungHo Online Entertainment have decided to take drastic action.

Indeed, as of July 19, 4 a.m. in France, the title’s servers will temporarily close. so that the latter can be “redeveloped”. In other words, like a certain Final Fantasy XIVthe production will obviously try to afford a partial or complete overhaul before being marketed again later, at an unknown date.

FF XIV Mode Enabled

In a statement posted on the official free-to-play website, the Japanese studio teams said “There is no doubt that we have encountered difficulties since the launch of our game, especially with regard to matchmaking and in-game lag. […] Although we have tried to find various solutions which have met with some success, we have not been able to resolve the underlying issues. As a result, the development and operations teams have made the decision to temporarily suspend game services while we redevelop Deathverse: Let It Die. »

Supertrick Games and GungHo Online Entertainment also wanted to add this: “It was a difficult decision for us to make. However, we believe that re-releasing the game with significant improvements will allow it to be enjoyed by a wider audience as well as our current players. Given the time needed to develop a game, […] it is impossible to say at this stage if this is the right choice. But we love this game and are proud to have developed it as a team. Therefore, we think it’s the best possible decision right now. »

Waiting to find out if Deathverse: Let It Die will or will not be able to afford a successful resurrection as Square Enix’s MMORPG experienced at the time, note that, until the servers are temporarily closed, all content from Season 2 and some of that planned for Season 3 will be integrated. As for the sale of “Death Metal”, the virtual currency of the title, it will be suspended from February 8 at 2:59 am in France.
