Dame Deborah James was knighted by Queen Elizabeth for her fight against colon cancer and her educational work. Now the BBC podcaster has died at the age of 40.
Deborah James was terminally ill with colon cancer and has now died at the age of 40. Her family shared the sad news on the BBC radio host and podcaster’s Instagram on June 28, 2022.

“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Dame Deborah James – the most wonderful wife, daughter, sister and mother. Deborah passed away peacefully today surrounded by her family,” reads a statement on James’ Instagram. accounts.
Deborah had one last message ready for her 990,000 followers: “Find a life worth enjoying; take risks; love deeply; have no regrets; and always, always have a rebellious hope. And finally : Check your poop – it could save your life [sic].”

The English journalist was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer in 2016. The mother of two children has since documented her illness and the challenges it poses on social media. In 2020 she announced that she was cancer-free, but then the disease returned. Despite all the setbacks, the Briton enjoyed her life to the fullest – and had taken on an important task.
Through her Bowelbabe Fund, Deborah James called for donations, with huge success! Queen Elizabeth, 96, ennobled her in May of this year for her tireless efforts. Prince William, 40, even paid a visit to the journalist’s home to celebrate the title of “lady” with her.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Sebastien Bowen, and their two children, Hugo, 14, and Eloise, 12.
