The fashion world is in mourning: fashion designer Roberto Cavalli died in Florence on April 12, 2024 after a long illness, as Italian media report. His fashion house shared the following statement about the death on Instagram: “It is with great sadness that we say our final goodbyes to our founder today.” The fashion designer studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and founded his own fashion brand in 1970 and presented his first collection at the ready-to-wear shows in Paris. The first boutique in Saint-Tropez followed in 1972 and since then he has been considered the darling of the jet set and big stars. Creations with animal prints and eye-catching designs were his trademark and he stood for luxurious glamor in the fashion world. Roberto Cavalli leaves behind his six children.
