A few weeks ago, Deezer was the first music streaming service to increase the price of its premium offer above the symbolic bar of 10.99 euros per month. Now more expensive than the competition of one euro – in particular with a view to better remunerating artists – the French platform has just unveiled a new visual identity. This not only concerns its logo, but also its interface.

First of all, Deezer abandons its logo, although quite unique and identifiable, for something a little more common. Goodbye colored equalizer bars, and hello a purple heart. To justify this choice, Maria Garrido, marketing director of Deezer, declares: “ Refreshing our visual identity gives us the opportunity to tell our story in a more emotional way, to connect music enthusiasts, artists and our strategic partners, using strong visual signs, which remind us that Deezer makes it possible to experience music in an authentic way “.
A simplified and modernized interface
To support this change which will obviously divide, Deezer offers a slightly redesigned interface on the web and its apps. In addition to the logical presence of the purple color in the menus, we will note in particular a better highlighting of playlists in the side menu, fewer and fewer submenus moved to the “Explore” menu, and an improved dark theme. The reading part at the bottom has also been retouched, as evidenced by the screenshots above.
