This is an extremely surprising feature that Deezer has decided to launch this week. Indeed, the application can now recognize a song when it is sung by someone.

Warm up your voice and get ready to sing!

A way to stand out

Competition is fierce among online music services. This is what drives the main players in the market to innovate. At this level, Deezer did not do things by halves, since the platform deployed a feature as new as it is exclusive this Tuesday, September 27. In particular, it will allow a person to find music more easily.

Like Shazam, Deezer’s SongCatcher feature is useful for finding all the information about a song a person is listening to. This tool is also able to add the song in question to a playlist. This week, it is this search function that receives a major novelty. Thus, the Deezer application (PC/mobile) and the web version can recognize a song when it is simply sung by a person.

A really effective tool?

Deezer explains that all you have to do is hum or even whistle a song for SongCatcher to recognize it. To launch this recognition mode, go to the “Search” tab, then press the box relating to this new option. Once the song is recognized, it can be added or not to a playlist.

Of course, for the process to work properly, the hummed song must be part of the catalog available on Deezer. In addition, if the first feedback seems encouraging, users mention recognition difficulties on the compositions of certain singers. We can still imagine that the French music streaming service will improve its functionality over the weeks.
