The polar bears lost game two of the AHL quarterfinal series at home to Lustenau 3-4 after overtime. Game three is already taking place in Vorarlberg on Saturday.
In a hard-fought game, the polar bears – in the second game of the AHL quarter-final series (best of five) – fell behind in the first third. Häußle made it 1-0 for the guests. In the second section, the Zellers came out of the dressing room with more pressure. Bär and Huber turned the game well worth seeing. The Pinzgauers also had the right answer to the two goals scored by Lustenau (goal scorers: Wilfan and Giftopoulos) in the final third: Neubauer equalized shortly before the end and gave the Pinzgauers an extension in their first play-off home game in six years it went back and forth until finally the Vorarlbergers were allowed to cheer. Koczera ensured the final score of 3:4 and equalized in the series. “It was an even game, they just had that little bit of luck,” summarized Eisbär Schernthaner. On Saturday it’s back to the “Ländle” where game three of the series is due.
