FC Bayern apparently turns down an offer of 31 million euros

FC Bayern has been discussing new players “for a long time” because several professionals in defense are missing for weeks due to the African and Asian Cups. However, an offer to Italy will probably remain unsuccessful: a Romanian international player is apparently on his way to England.

FC Bayern fans can expect new players in the German football champions’ squad soon. The club is “currently in the process of fixing one or two deals,” said sports director Christoph Freund in an interview with the streaming service DAZN, which was conducted last week and whose core statements DAZN is now disseminating again. The Munich team wants to improve, especially in defense.

“For the first four or five weeks in January we are missing two players, Noussair Mazraoui and Minjae Kim, who are at the African Cup and Asian Cup respectively. That’s why we have been discussing a few names for a long time,” said Freund, explaining the concerns on the defensive. But it is always a question of feasibility to specify a change.

There is currently public speculation about a commitment from Radu Dragusin, the 21-year-old Romanian international is currently under contract with CFC Genoa. According to the “Bild” newspaper, Bayern have made an offer worth 31 million euros for Dragusin. The English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur is also said to be interested in him – and, according to various media, is apparently ahead. The defender should therefore fly to London today. The mandatory medical check before a transfer would take place there.

Tottenham also plays a role in the second footballer who has been linked to Munich: midfielder Eric Dier. His contract expires at the end of the season, but he could now move from Spurs to FC Bayern. At the weekend, coach Thomas Tuchel responded evasively and with a joke to a question about what the name Dier sounded to him: “English. Nothing more. Have you asked the sports director yet?” He will “of course” not comment on the topic.

Freund did not want to “participate in speculation”, but added meaningfully: “It is a fact that we are in contact with some players and are currently having some discussions.” In addition, the Austrian did not rule out mega transfers like that of striker Harry Kane, who cost Munich a record transfer fee of 100 million euros in the summer. “If everything fits together and everyone is sure that it could give so much to the team, then maybe that will happen again and again,” he said.
