After the XPS 13 triptych launched last summer, Dell is back with its 15 and 17-inch models… but not only, because the Texan giant is drawing a brand new Desktop XPS as a bonus. The latter makes the powder speak with the best office components of the moment.
Dell is quietly renewing its XPS product line and enriching it. Eight months after switching to three distinct XPS 13 references (the XPS 13 Plus, “classic” XPS 13 and XPS 13 2-in-1, transformed for the occasion into a Windows tablet), the American manufacturer is attacking this beginning of the year to its large format XPS.
The 15- and 17-inch XPS are equipped with the latest high-performance mobile components from Intel and NVIDIA, while the Desktop XPS is a little further into the Round Rock manufacturer’s range with a very high-end configuration. Here is the detail of what Dell has concocted for us.
The XPS 15 and 17 gain a lot of power
Let’s start with the XPS 15. Like its 17-inch big brother, the device has retained its format and design that we’ve known for two years now. We therefore find a CNC machined aluminum chassis, equipped with braided carbon fiber wrist rests. Count also 18 mm thick for 1.92 kilos for the highest model (and the heaviest).
Under the hood of this new XPS 15, Dell is installing up to a Core i9-13900H this year, coupled with a maximum of 64 GB of RAM (in DDR5 at 4800 MHz). On the GPU side, it will be possible to opt for three dedicated cards of your choice: an Intel Arc A370M, or an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050, 4060 or 4070.
As for the screen, we can count either on a simple IPS Full HD + “InfinityEdge” panel, or on a much more elaborate 3.5K OLED touch panel, 15.6 inches in both cases. The set will be powered by an 86 Wh battery rechargeable using a 130 W USB-C power supply.
The XPS 15 will be available in spring 2023, starting at 2,099 euros.

Expected over the same period, this time from 3,199 euros, the XPS 17 will resume a generally similar configuration. We can thus equip it with a maximum of a Core i9-13900H, coupled with 64 GB of DDR5, but this time with only dedicated graphics cards stamped NVIDIA. We will then go from the RTX 4050 to the RTX 4080, but whatever the reference chosen, Dell will however limit itself to a TGP of 60 W. Nothing surprising here: the XPS 17 remains compact with only 19.5 mm thick for 2.44 kilos on the scale.
On this model, the 17.3-inch screen will finally be able to go up to an Ultra HD + definition, but only in IPS (touch), if we are to believe the technical sheet provided to us by Dell. On the power side, we will also find the same 130 W USB-C charger as on the XPS 15, but with a larger 97 Wh battery.

Desktop XPS: a powerful tower for the pros
The icing on the cake is the announcement of a new Desktop XPS. With this new model, Dell is back on top of what it already offered… but this time with the Raptor Lake and Ada Lovelace combo, or RDNA 3. The device can indeed accommodate up to an RTX 4090 on the NVIDIA side, or a Radeon RX 7900 XTX at most on the AMD side.

CPU-wise, no Ryzen chips on the horizon this time. You will have to choose between Core i5, i7 or i9 of 13e generation (with a Core i9-13900K on the best motorized models), coupled with 8, 16, 32 or 64 GB of RAM (DDR5 at 4,800 MHz).
Depending on the configuration adopted, Dell will also rely on a 460 W Bronze, 750 W Platinum or 1000 W Platinum power supply. Same approach for the dissipation system, which will range from a simple cooler to all-in-one watercooling depending on the components selected when ordering.
Finally, in terms of its measurements, the Desktop XPS remains compact: 426.9 x 372.9 x 173 mm for a maximum of 13.3 kilos on the best equipped configuration. The device will arrive no matter what” shortly on the market, from 1,399 euros for the most basic model. It will simply be equipped with a Core i5-13400, 8 GB of DDR5, 512 GB of SSD, and will be delivered without a dedicated GPU.
