Delphine Ernotte remains confident in Salto, which has 700,000 subscribers

“Salto is young, she is starting out, she is progressing.” After a little over a year of existence, the subscription streaming platform launched jointly by TF1, M6 and France Télévisions seems to be struggling a little. For the first time, his boss, Delphine Ernotte, spoke on the subject. At the microphone of France Inter, she even revealed her number of subscribers, a data yet jealously kept secret by Salto. “It is not for me to give the figures, but we must be around 700,000 subscribers”, she confided, without however providing more details on the origin of these figures.

We are therefore still far from the goal that the platform supposedly set for 2021 – one million subscribers according to Capital. But if these results are true, we are nevertheless above the figures which filtered out recently and which placed Salto’s clientele between 300,000 and 400,000 people. Maybe that’s what makes Delphine Ernotte want to “[croire] in this project ” Who “Has a future”. This declaration has the merit of extinguishing a little the fire recently launched by the rumors of defection of the France Televisions group, worried by the future marriage between TF1 and M6 which could jeopardize the future of Salto.

However, two parameters come into play to counterbalance this information. First, Delphine Ernotte, as well as Gilles Pélisson and Nicolas de Tavernost, her counterparts from TF1 and M6, theoretically no longer have any executive status within Salto since the three resigned last March from the board of the platform. As the oratorical precautions taken by the boss of France Télévisions suggest, these figures can therefore just as well be real data as a means of communicating and calming rumors.
