The Swiss cause criticism – even the Thai Prime Minister commented. Now his visa is being revoked.
A Swiss elephant park operator in Thailand has been in the negative headlines for days.
The trigger was an argument on the steps of his villa in Phuket.
Now the man is to be deported – his visa has been revoked.
The Swiss is said to have kicked a Thai doctor in the back. The woman was sitting with another person on the steps of his beach villa. The man denies the accusation and says he slipped.
Protests in front of the Swiss man’s villa
However, criticism of him and his Thai wife, who is also said to have insulted and threatened the doctor, continues in Thailand. Locals protested in front of the villa and demanded that the Swiss man be deported.
Further allegations subsequently became public. In the past, he is said to have obstructed an ambulance and threatened the driver. The Swiss was fined for defamation and reckless driving.
A case also for the Prime Minister
Even the Thai Prime Minister commented on the case. Srettha Thavisin said he had instructed relevant authorities to ensure that foreigners abide by Thai laws.
The Swiss man’s visa has now been revoked on the grounds that he poses a threat to social peace.
