Demi Lovato has adopted female pronouns again – she explains in a podcast what this development is all about.

Pop star Demi Lovato, 29, took to her social media channels last May to reveal that she identifies as non-binary. Lovato changed her pronouns to “they/them” in English. These pronouns were also in the bio on the artist’s Instagram page. Meanwhile, Lovato has also added the pronouns “she/her” (“she/her”).

Demi Lovato explains her decision

In the podcast “Spout” The singer explained her decision: “I actually took the pronouns from her/her again.” The reason is her “fluid personality”, according to Lovato. Lately she would have felt more feminine again.

Demi Lovato also adds the feminine pronouns on her Instagram profile.

Demi Lovato: ‘I just felt human’

In the conversation, Lovato also reports from the past few months: “I had the feeling, especially last year, that my male and female energy was balanced.” For example, if she had to choose between using the men’s or women’s restroom, Lovato said she couldn’t have made up her mind. “Because I didn’t necessarily feel like a woman. I didn’t feel like a man. I just felt like a human being.”

People with non-binary gender identities do not clearly define themselves as male or female. Lovato tweeted in 2021 that the decision followed a period of healing and self-reflection. In another post, the star said changing the pronouns to “they/them” allows them to feel more authentic as who Lovato is and is yet to discover.
