Who will accompany François-Xavier Bellamy, Céline Simard, Christophe Gomart on the complete list of Republicans for the European elections? The answer should come this Tuesday as party executives recently met to choose between historic heavyweights and new faces.

With the European elections fast approaching, it is time for Les Républicains to choose who will accompany François-Xavier Bellamy, Céline Imart, and Christophe Gomart on the party list. This Monday, LR executives met at headquarters to reach an agreement and among the discussions, two cases were particularly debated, Nadine Morano and Brice Hortefeux, two historic Sarkozysts.

Supported by Wauquiez

They have on their side the experience of minister, an important fact for a party which aspires to govern and a solid local anchoring in Lorraine for Nadine Morano and in Auvergne and for Brice Hortefeux. Both have the support of party executives and in particular Laurent Wauquiez. But their presence would be for several elected officials the symbol of a bygone era for the right. Many are pleading for new faces to emerge and uncertainty still hangs over their fate this Tuesday morning. It must be said that the party delayed the deadline for a long time.

Answer this Tuesday

Eric Ciotti and François-Xavier Bellamy wish to avoid, as much as possible, having to deal with the resentment of those who are absent. It’s an unpleasant exercise for all party leaders, recognizes a balanced candidate. There is an indecision on the entire list, summarized for his part a Republican employee, Monday evening, suspended, like many, from the decision of the National Investiture Commission of the party whose outcome is expected this Tuesday Morning.
