“Brat Pack” movie stars celebrate together in New York

A documentary about the “Brat Pack” era is premiering in New York. Among those taking part are 80s stars Demi Moore and Jon Cryer.
Stars of the 1980s came together in New York City to support Andrew McCarthy (61) at the Tribeca Film Festival. The world premiere of McCarthy’s documentary “Brats” took place there. Among those present were the actors Ally Sheedy (61, “The Breakfast Club”), Demi Moore (61, “St. Elmo’s Fire”), Jon Cryer (59, “Pretty in Pink”) and director Howard Deutch (73).
“Brats” is about the “Brat Pack” generation. This influential group of young stars in the 1980s included Robert Downey Jr. (59), Emilio Estevez (62) and Rob Lowe (60), who were known not only for their film careers but also for their allegedly excessive party escapades.

In the documentary, Andrew McCarthy interviews friends and former co-stars such as Lowe, Molly Ringwald (56), Estevez, Moore and other stars who starred in films in the 1980s that were so popular with a certain age group that a June 1985 article in New York Magazine called them “The Brat Pack.”
