Demographic deficit threatens China and Russia

LAre the “re-emerging” powers of Russia and China preparing to sink again? Over the course of the annual statistics, their demographic situation is deteriorating and appears increasingly worrying for their future as a nation, but also as a power.

Russia seems to mask the devastating impact of Covid-19 on its population. According to economist Ariel Karlinsky, who is trying to establish the “true” assessment of the pandemic, country by country, through excess mortality (number of deaths compared to that which was “expected” in the absence of the pandemic), this excess would be more than 1 million people since March 2020.
