The show’s host, Denis Brogniart, didn’t mince words. On Twitter, he expressed his grief over this terrible loss: "I am devastated by the passing of Bertrand-Kamal last night. He was 30 years old. I knew him as an adventurer from Koh Lanta and I loved him as a friend afterwards."

Bertrand-Kamal had announced, in all transparency, suffering from cancer in various interviews. The young man expected the news to come out. That’s why he didn’t hide it by talking about his illness himself. The new season, which is called Koh-Landa: The 4 Lands, is currently available on TF1. Many viewers wondered: would the TV station continue to broadcast the show? Denis Brogniart entrusted the last wishes of the candidate. Indeed, he had expressed to the producers and the presenter his wish for the continuation of the adventure, no matter what.

Whatever happens he wanted Koh-Lanta to continue

" Just before the broadcast of the new episode, this Friday, September 11, the presenter of TF1 paid tribute to him. Denis Brogniart spoke on a tape recorder recorded earlier today: “We have all been very sad since Wednesday evening. Bertrand-Kamal, whom you discovered during the last two weeks (…) died after having struggled with courage and incredible strength of character for several months. He was going to be 31 years old (…). ) My Beka, I keep preciously with me forever your sparkling eyes, our daily exchanges when it was hard. I will never forget you. We will never forget you. And of course we dedicate this Koh-Lanta season to you where you were unanimous. I love you. "
