Depending on the car brand – These customers accept the longest delivery times

The supply chain problems as a result of the pandemic and war are causing long waiting times for car buyers. Some brands’ customers accept this more easily than others.

Car buyers usually understand the currently long delivery times for new cars. Kia customers are particularly patient and would accept a wait of up to six months, according to a survey by the market research agency Puls. They are followed closely by Mercedes and Dacia customers, each with 5.9 months. On the other hand, those who want a Toyota are rather impatient: In this case, the car should be in front of the front door after 3.6 months. On average across all brands, the accepted waiting time is 5.2 months. Many retailers are currently trying to compensate their customers for the long delivery times with special services. A replacement vehicle is particularly in demand from the buyer’s point of view, which around 50 percent of those surveyed would welcome as compensation for an excessive waiting time. 46 percent want the assurance of a fixed vehicle price, and 38 percent are happy about maintenance vouchers. Another model with a shorter delivery time would only be accepted by 19 percent. (SPX)
