Desperate owner – fire brigade rescued hunting dog from the Drau

Carinthia’s fire brigades are also always on hand for animals. On Friday evening, men from the Peratschitzen volunteer fire brigade were able to save a dog from the Drau.

“The dog swam almost all over the Drau. The owners were afraid he was drowning and alerted us,” reports Fire Brigade Commander Tomas Abraham. 18 men from the fire brigade moved out with three vehicles and the work boat at around 6:27 p.m. The men were able to rescue the exhausted hound from the water with the workboat. A weight fell from the hearts of the owners. The Drava is currently carrying a strong current. The commander said it could have ended badly.
