Please note, we are talking here about the grand finale of the “Saga of Light and Darkness” and not the conclusion of Destiny 2, which Bungie clearly does not intend to abandon despite the other big secret projects in preparation in the studio, now owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
For the time being, it is on Neptune that this new expansion will take players, with within it a futuristic city as we have rarely seen in the Bungie franchise. This colorful metropolis worthy of the most beautiful cyberpunk cities is called Néomuna and players will have the good surprise of being able to explore the place with a new grapple mechanism (the Dark Thread) allowing them to weave between buildings like a superhero. New antagonist draped in mystery, the Witness had already aroused the excitement of the community with his look from elsewhere.
Time flies: Eclipse will bring Destiny 2 into its 6th year. Although notoriously unwelcoming to newcomers, Bungie’s game has attracted more than 5 million new players since the release of The Witch Queen. Let’s add that Destiny 2 is now available on the Epic Games Store, a great opportunity to release some skins in Fortnite and Fall Guys. With the partnership working both ways, this is the first time original Fortnite characters will make an appearance in another franchise.
Another notable announcement is the promise that no more expansions will be removed from the game, even temporarily. Speaking of extensions, shadow bastion, Beyond the Light and The Witch Queen are free on all platforms for one week from today. If we have to try to jump on the bandwagon, it seems to be now.
